BOSTON – March 20, 2017 – When the world’s top open source storage and filesystems researchers and developers gather in Cambridge, MA this week to plan and implement improvements in Linux storage systems, local Internet service provider netBlazr and Austin, Texas-based RightRound will deliver faster broadband to speed their work.
Locally owned and operated, netBlazr is Boston’s top choice for high-speed Internet and Boston’s only broadband provider with a 5-star Yelp rating. RightRound was originally founded in 2005 to deliver Internet services at Austin’s annual mega-festival SXSW (including attendee WiFi and video streaming).
Together, netBlazr and RightRound will provide the Linux Storage, Filesystem & Memory Management Summit (March 20-21, 2017) with 300 Mbps of symmetrical broadband access.
The Summit gathers the foremost development and research experts and kernel subsystem maintainers to map out and implement improvements to the Linux filesystem, storage and memory management subsystems that will make their way into the mainline kernel in the coming years. This two-day invitation-only workshop is a community event underwritten and managed by The Linux Foundation.
“The Linux Foundation asked us to provide a reliable high-speed network for their 2-day event,” said Cliff Skolnick, director and network architect at RightRound. “And we immediately turned to netBlazr to deliver the internet connectivity. We’ve worked with netBlazr before on Boston area event projects and their superior customer service really makes a difference. Plus, together we can deliver faster broadband, for less than our customer might otherwise pay.”
“The vast majority of our customers are residences and businesses with long term needs and our flexible line-of-sight network can easily and cost-effectively provide temporary solutions to events like The Linux Foundation’s storage event,” explains Jim Hanley, CEO of netBlazr.
netBlazr is connecting RightRound and The Linux Foundation to the internet via its point-to-point wireless connection. netBlazr covers the Greater Boston area.
